Joe Hoedel, Ph.D.
Joe Hoedel earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. For 20 years, he has served as the president of Character Development & Leadership. He developed two national programs that improve the character and leadership of secondary students. The first program is the evidence-based classroom curriculum, which is used in 3,500+ schools nationwide. The second is the app-based Student Athlete Program, specifically for use by high school athletes in an athletic environment. Joe also authored a textbook for each program that provides the reader with excellent role models to look up to and emulate.
Dr. Hoedel has spoken at hundreds of schools and countless conferences in the past decade. Being a positive role model and developing the character of each student is the hallmark message of his talks. His inspirational message reminds educators and coaches why they entered this profession and how to keep the long-term perspective of students in mind.

Curt Chrencik, Director of Strategic Partnerships
Curt Chrencik holds two master's degrees in Education and Administrative Leadership. He is a seasoned educator with 30 years of experience in the field, including 26 years as an administrator, and over 17 years coaching various high school sports. Throughout his career, Curt has built a reputation for his genuine personality, strong character, and unique ability to connect with students. His approachable nature and knack for engaging with kids in meaningful ways, along with his ability to lead by example, have made him a standout figure in education. He is also highly respected by staff and his community for fostering a positive, fun, and productive school atmosphere through his collaborative and supportive leadership and ideas. Curt's dedication to both his students and staff has made a lasting impact on the development of his students' character and leadership, while also cultivating a positive school-wide culture in the schools and communities he has served.
Curt is currently the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Character Development and Leadership, and the author and designer of the “Leading with Character” School-wide Culture Building Program. Curt has presented at numerous conferences around the state of Michigan and works directly with schools to develop the character and leadership of their students, while implementing a comprehensive, detailed program that helps solidify a positive, productive, and meaningful school culture.
